Sending SMS is a great way to stay in touch with your friends and colleagues. So the “staying in touch” part gets even cozy when it’s free. Well partially. Here’s a website 160by2 where you can send unlimited smses to all your friends across India fore free. The signup process is free. Here’s the link to the sign up page. The only limitation is that the sms sent out can contain only 80 characters and for the remaining 80 characters a relevant ad is placed by the website. For those of you concerned about the privacy and spamming here is the website privacy and anti-spam policy document. It’s safe. And in case of any doubts the comment section is always open. 
You may wanna try some template messages present on the websites on various topics like health, love, friendship etc. There are many other features like birthday/anniversary remainders that send sms to numbers automatically (helps a lot for people like me and G 
)

160by2 has a limitation of only 180 chars. I have to send multiple messages to get “one message” across.
