All the regular readers would have noticed that our site was hacked.
The good part is that I’m back, live and kicking and the bad part is that I’ve lost some data, some earnings and yeah a lot of frustrated visitors who would had landed on my page searching for something.
It really gets frustrating at times when you search for something, find a site which offers the solution but the site doesn’t load up. I could do nothing about it this time.
Other major lesson I learnt is that I need to take timely backups of important data. My host takes weekly backup of my data. The datacenter too takes weekly back up, but if you are a blogger who blogs regularly, then in the worst case you might loose a weeks data.
To be on the safer side, find out from your host when your weekly back up happens. Schedule another data backup in the next three days so that even if something goes wrong you’ll loose three days data and not much. There are quite good other alternatives too, but this is the simplest and suits perfect for all the laziest people out there ![]()
Ah! I really didn’t know about the website. Anyway, the good thing is that you are back now :). Keep up with the good posts coming
